Executive Order 47/26 - July 2026 Executive Order Cleanup
Whereas, a "President may issue and revoke Executive Orders to ensure good governance of the server" (Const. 24(5));
Whereas, this administration has committed to an executive record in which every Order means something, does something, and can be explained to the public, and to reviewing the existing record openly with reasons given, rather than by sweeping gesture;
Whereas, the Orders addressed herein are reviewed without disrespect to the administration that issued them or to the levity they brought during a difficult period, but an executive record must be one that citizens, courts, and departments can rely upon;
Whereas, the executive record has accumulated numerous Executive Orders of frivolous, redundant, unlawful, or non-operative character, and retaining them would leave the boundaries of executive authority unclear at the very moment Redmont is rebuilding its institutions;
Whereas, the executive departments are enumerated and established by statute under the Executive Standards Act, §§ 6-14, and the creation of a new executive department is a matter for Congress and may not be effected by Executive Order, a boundary this administration intends to model rather than merely assert;
Whereas, several recent Executive Orders purport to establish new executive departments in contravention of the Executive Standards Act;
Whereas, under the Executive Standards Act, § 5, a Secretary may be installed only with the confirmation of the Senate, and a President may of their own accord appoint only an Acting Secretary for a limited period, and Executive Order 34/26 - Luke Lock In purports to make an appointment inconsistent with that limitation, and this administration has itself submitted every Secretary nomination to the Senate in accordance with that procedure;
Whereas, Executive Order 37/26 - Art n Stuff duplicates functions already served by an existing national museum;
Whereas, Executive Order 26/26 - Intergalactic is inconsistent with established staff intent regarding the number of towns, and this administration is committed to clear lanes between the government and the staff team;
Whereas, numerous Executive Orders serve no operative governmental purpose and exist only as personal, commemorative, or comedic gestures, and while there is room for whimsy in Redmont, the executive record is not its proper home;
Whereas, many of the Executive Orders addressed herein appear never to have been validly signed by their issuing officer and therefore may never have taken legal effect;
Whereas, the strike having concluded and this administration having committed to resolving grievances through dialogue, timelines, and a standing mechanism rather than through work stoppages, the framework established by Executive Order 23/26 - Work Stoppages no longer reflects the policy of the executive;
Whereas, Executive Order 31/26 - Titles: Remastered 2026 purports to grant titles that are "absolute and may not be revoked," contrary to the longstanding practice of prior administrations that such honorary titles remain revocable at the pleasure of the sitting President, and no President may bind their successors in perpetuity by ordinary Executive Order;
Therefore, by the authority vested in me by the Redmont Constitution, I, xXTheoryXx, President of the Commonwealth of Redmont, do declare the following under this Executive Order:
§ 1. PURPOSE AND INTENT
The purposes of this executive order are:
(1) to repeal Executive Orders that exceed the executive authority, duplicate existing institutions, or serve no operative purpose;

They confer no legal right, power, privilege, or rank, and may be amended or revoked by any sitting President by future Executive Order."
(2) All remaining provisions of Executive Order 31/26, including the titles granted thereunder, remain in full force and effect as amended.
§ 7. EFFECT OF ORDERS NEVER VALIDLY EXECUTED
To the extent that any Executive Order repealed by this order was never validly signed by its issuing officer and therefore never took legal effect, this order confirms that such Executive Order is and has always been of no force or effect. The repeals set forth herein are enacted in the alternative and out of an abundance of caution, and shall not be construed as an admission that any such order ever took effect.
§ 8. ORDERS REVIEWED AND RETAINED
The following Executive Order has been reviewed and is retained without amendment:
(1) Executive Order 27/26 - I Want My MP3.
§ 9. IMPLEMENTATION
This Executive Order shall take immediate effect upon its signing.
Signed,
