The Public Defender Director has decided to open up an expression of interest forum for those with extensive legal experience to express interest in the role of Public Defender. We would like to emphasize the apolitical role this is and ask that people respect this process by not campaigning, endorsing, or explicitly supporting any individual for such a role.

  3. In your own words, please explain the role of a Public Defender. A PD defends people who either can't afford a lawyer or trust the Public Defender system. I'm applying in hopes to promote that trust and help those who need it.
  4. What motivated you to pursue a career as a Public Defender? I would like to take on more cases, and I think this can be a great way to develop my legal career.
  5. Why do you think you are a good fit for the position of Public Defender? I am hardworking and I see things until the end. I can work well in a team and also on my own. I get along well with people, and now that I have more time on DC, I can take on more responsibility.
  6. What legal experience do you have in-game? I was employed as an Attorney at Dragon Law for 4 months.

  3. In your own words, please explain the role of a Public Defender.
    A Public Defender represents people in court who cannot afford private representation or possess the necessary legal skills to make legal arguments. Their job is to make sure everyone has access to fair legal representation, protecting the constitutional right to have qualified legal counsel in court.

  4. What motivated you to pursue a career as a Public Defender?
    I vigorously support the right that every citizen has to a fair and speedy trial, as guaranteed under our Constitution. The Public Defender Program is essential in protecting these rights, especially for those who can’t afford private representation. I want to help uphold these principles and ensure that every player, regardless of their circumstances, receives proper legal defence. I also find great enjoyment in practising law in Redmont, and serving as a Public Defender allows me to continue doing what I’m most passionate about.

  5. Why do you think you are a good fit for the position of Public Defender?
    I believe I am a strong fit for the position of Public Defender because I have been a qualified Attorney since first joining the server 6 months ago, with my early experience focused primarily on defence work. I’ve handled numerous cases and opined on many legal opinions, always ensuring my arguments are well-reasoned and grounded in law. I’m highly detail-oriented and think carefully through every case, but I’m also flexible and pragmatic - I don’t pursue arguments simply to "win one over" on the opposing counsel, but rather to achieve the best possible outcome for the client.

    Under Rule 6.5 of the Court Rules and Procedures, a Public Defender’s duty is to respond to cases promptly, protect their client’s constitutional rights, and work toward a favourable resolution, even through settlement when appropriate. A Public Defender is not required to follow every demand made by their client, nor are they obligated to argue their client’s innocence. I fully understand and respect these boundaries and believe I can uphold them while providing capable, fair, and responsible representation to those I serve.

  6. What legal experience do you have in-game?
    I earned my Attorney qualification 7 hours after joining the server, having dedicated my entire first day to completing the exams. I began my legal career at Mezimori as a junior lawyer, where I focused on developing defence arguments before eventually launching my own comprehensive legal case. I later helped establish the Mezimori Legal Department (MZLD) and served as its de facto Head of Legal, overseeing its growth and operations. Over time, I’ve been involved in more than 20 different cases across various areas of law. I also gained experience on the prosecution side during a brief tenure with the Department of Justice, which provided me with a balanced understanding of both defence and prosecution. Additionally, as a former member of the House of Representatives, I contributed to drafting legislation that remains in effect today.

    2. Vanguard & Co v. Naezaratheus [2025] FCR 32 - One of my first major Defence cases, my closing statement holds the longest and most in-depth legal arguments I've made to date, which culminated in countless hours of research.
    3. The Commonwealth of Redmont v. v__d [2025] SCR 7 - While appearing insignificant on the surface, I was succesfully able to argue the removal of a Corruption charge, allowing v__d to remain/run for office.

    1. DocTheory v. Commonwealth of Redmont [2025] FCR 42 - Logistically, this case was not handled well, and I did not provide this case with the care and attention it deserved.
    2. ToadKing v. Culls [2025] DCR 57 - This case was admittedly hastily thrown together, with sparse claims for relief outlined in the filing. I have since improved on this case (see ToadKing v. Culls [2025] FCR 103).
    3. T04DS74 v. Gribble19 [2025] FCR 66 - This case represents a fundamental misunderstanding I had with the Privacy Act, and highlights my weakness in missing minor details.

In your own words, please explain the role of a Public Defender.
The role of a public defender is to litigate in the defense of someone who can't afford an attorney, didn't show up to court, or if the presiding magistrate/judge/justice requests a PD.

What motivated you to pursue a career as a Public Defender?
I have had an extensive past legal career as a public defender, partner at multiple law firms, and been a magistrate and judge in the past. I recently rejoined the server, retook the solicitor, barrister and attorney exams, and I want to start up my legal career again.

Why do you think you are a good fit for the position of Public Defender?
Having had such a m extensive legal career and large amounts of legal knowledge, I think I would be a great fit to defend anyone no matter the circumstances.

What legal experience do you have in-game?
I have been on the Judiciary for over a year and a half presiding over 102 cases and 70 warrants during that time. I have also had 2 previous stints as a public defender, and worked as the CLO and been a legal partner at many companies and law firms.

3. In your own words, please explain the role of a Public Defender.
The role of a Public Defender in my own words is, a lawyer who can be assigned to any case if a person does not have a lawyer available, they can also help
with legal trouble when needed. They help protect people during court cases, and protect the right to a fair trial, even if they don’t got the skills of protecting themselves
in court or can’t afford a lawyer.

4. What motivated you to pursue a career as a Public Defender?
I think what motivated me to pursue a career was getting more experience in court, most of the time I help with legal support, and contract law, and most of the time I
don’t do court cases BUT I know how to do them. I want to learn to get better from doing cases in real time, instead of just doing legal support anymore.

5. Why do you think you are a good fit for the position of Public Defender?
I think I am a good fit for the position because I have been a lawyer on DC for months, gotten experience, and work at a Law Firm as a Senior Partner. To start off ever since I rejoined the server I have been a lawyer, I knew enough to pass the exam in less than 1-3 tries. I have gotten experience working as a State Prosecutor and other law firm jobs! I was formerly a State Prosecutor who worked on a decent number of cases, (currently I am a investigator), and I worked and work at a few law firms (more about that in a second). My last experience is working at T&P a Senior Partner (the highest lawyer position in the firm) I gained experience making things and assisting in new lawyers, and working with contract law. I have also worked for a Wild Nation called Mountain as their Chief Justice for around 2-3 months.

6. What legal experience do you have in-game?
I currently have all Barrister Qualifications, The Solicitor Qualification, and the Attorney qualifications. I also have the RBI job Investigator.

My Strengths are:
  • Good at keeping track of things
  • Creative
  • Good Work Ethic
My weaknesses are:
