The Supreme Court in coordination with the President, has decided to open up an expression of interest forum for those with extensive legal experience to express interest in the role of Judge. We would like to emphasize the apolitical role this is, and ask that people respect this process by not campaigning, endorsing, or explicitly supporting any individual for such role.

JUDGE INFORMATION
Judges serve on the Federal Court of the Commonwealth of Redmont. They preside over all cases in the Federal Court and may preside over the District Court. The‌ ‌Federal Court‌ ‌of‌ ‌Redmont‌ ‌hears‌ ‌all‌ ‌major‌ ‌civil‌ ‌and‌ ‌criminal‌ ‌disputes‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌first‌ ‌instance and is‌ ‌the‌ ‌appellate‌ ‌court‌ ‌for‌ ‌verdicts‌ ‌made‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌District‌ ‌Courts‌.

Judges are expected to maintain judicial integrity and independence, and to perform‌ ‌the‌ ‌duties‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌office‌ ‌fairly,‌ ‌impartially,‌ ‌and‌ ‌diligently.‌

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?: I work well with others and overall, always keep an open mind when making any decision. I always try to look at things from multiple angles A weakness would probably be college so sometimes I can go slightly unresponsive, but I always answer discord if pinged and I usually will check in on forums multiple times a week.
- Why do you want this position?: I have been a magistrate for almost a combined year between my 2 stints, and I have be practicing law on DC for almost 2.5 years. My legal career has become stagnant for a long time and just wish to move up in my career. I love being a Magistrate but never viewed it as a permanent job.
- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain: I have experience working as Inspections Manager/Deputy Secretary of the DCT for 9 months which included having to work with over 10 different secretaries either acting or confirmed during my tenure. My year on the courts also goes to illustrate my ability to work with a team having worked with at least a dozen different judicial officers.
- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?: Besides my extensive work as a Magistrate, Prosecutor, Public Defender Director and as an independent lawyer, one thing I have noticed is from playing DC for going on 4 years is I have pretty good knowledge of precedent from just reading and following cases. I don't have photographic memory, but I usually can remember recognizing if a similar situation as happened in a different case that can be used as precedent, and I'll remember just enough to be able to find the case I'm thinking of. I even know precedent from before my time on DC pretty well from just reading the cases for fun. My legal experience outside the courts is just doing research for fun basically.

- Additional Information: Listing out all my cases took much longer than expected. Please enjoy the dedication

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?: Some of my strengths are that I love researching case law, I have good writing and communication skills, I listen to both sides of arguments, a weakness I have is that I am a student, and because of that, sometimes on weekdays, I will be unavailable during early morning hours
- Why do you want this position?: Ever since I first got here, I've loved the law. I've seen the many cases under the FCR at this moment, and I would love to take on some of that burden onto myself.
- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain: Yes, I have 3 months of experience working with a small team of 3-6 people.
- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?: none
- Links to cases you have been involved in: none
- Additional Information: Thank you for your consideration

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?: I'm old and experienced, and have been told I'm relatively competent. I try not to make decisions without being informed and thinking through it properly. I try to stay away from politics and partisan affiliation, despite multiple attempts to try to sway me towards various parties. I like to think I'm a solid writer (I've had several DC judges comment positively on my postings, publicly and privately) and good at thinking things through. I also have a background in Economics which could be helpful when it comes to cases that focus more on the economic/finance side of DC.

For weaknesses, I am busy. Like our dear Supreme Court Justice Matthew, I'm in law school so time is a luxury for me. However, compared to running a law firm and maintaining that, sitting as a judge and rolling the dice to see if I dismiss a case or not reading the work someone else has done and thinking it through would likely be much easier time-wise for me than creating cases on my own.

- Why do you want this position?: I'm passionate and I care for the legal scene, not only because of my IRL experience and personal interests, but because I believe that its health and fluidity are of the highest importance to the rest of the server.

In my (potentially biased) opinion, without a stable and healthy legal scene to uphold rules and maintain justice, the rest of the server—be it politics, or finance, or property—falls apart. To protect that is an important mission, and since now we officially have 0 judges I feel that there's a responsibility to help out.

- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain: Yes. I have worked since January on the SC legal scene with Juniperfig and former PM AlexanderLove, and am currently Chancellor there where I work with the rest of the Judiciary to make things as smooth as we can. Further, I am a partner at Dragon Law where I manage one of our two chains. I have worked with several people in the community in various efforts, be they bills, political/legal systems, etc., and I believe I have proven myself competent in communication and negotiation/compromise in that regard.

Finally, my friends like playing Counter-Strike with me because I make good callouts and can organize the team properly to clutch up and get wins. I think this is highly relevant and important to consider for this role.

- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?: I am a partner at Dragon Law firm, and I am a Chancellor (SCR Justice equivalent) in Alexandria.

- Links to cases you have been involved in: lcn v. Blazora Corporation and MegaMinerM v. Blazora Corporation. The former was featured in Trolligarch's recent video on our server, and I believe both cases showcase the high level of quality, rationalizing thought, and great effort I put into my work. In addition to these two cases, I have informally been a part of several Dragon Law cases and other legal efforts behind the scenes in my role as a manager and partner.

- Additional Information: Mr. President: While I am sure you would reach out to me anyways, in the case that you believe I am a fit for the Federal Court and want to nominate me to be confirmed before the Senate, please inform me ahead of time so I can wrap up my work in DC and stand without any loose ends left.

My DM's are open for any SCR or Presidential questions as to this EoI.

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?: Strengths: Activity, Determination, Constant Discord. Weaknesses: Weekend Activities, Procrastination.
- Why do you want this position?: Because with the vacancies on the Federal Court, Redmont has a need for experienced judges. I believe I have the experience, time, and abilities to properly execute the office. I have spent most of my more recent time on DC on the courts in some manner, and I believe it is probably where I am most accustomed to being, I feel it would be a proper use of my time on DC.
- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain: Yes, throughout my time as Chief Judge for the FCR, Magistrate, PD, and SCR Intern, I feel I was able to properly communicate with my colleagues (except near the end), I know how to properly convey a message clearly and correctly and I feel I can utilize this skill on my time in the courts.
- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?: Outside of court positions I've been a RBI Member, OAG Paralegal, Prosecutor, Clerk.

- What are your strengths and weaknesses? i LOVE NAPS
- Why do you want this position?: To nap in court room. If you dont accept this thingy i will judge you
- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain: When i have nightmares i talk while napping
- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?: I am nappinator
- Links to cases you have been involved in:
No thank you

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?: Strengths are I work well with others and have the experience. Weakness is my availability. I am the type of person who likes to take a lot on as seen with my other terms in the DCR and FCR (a lot of it was not by choice as I was the only judicial officer on the branch like 80% of the time) but I will have to make sure that I keep a limited case load of about 3-5 cases in order to make sure the cases are heard fairly and quickly.
- Why do you want this position?: I miss it. I also think the verdicts are decent writing practice as a journalism major IRL, grammatically speaking.
- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain: I work better with a team. I have experience running half a department with the DCT as deputy sec, working with collegues on all 3 levels of the courts and working with other lawyers in the DOJ and as Public Defender Director.
- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?: Besides countless jobs as a lawyer in court or as a judicial officer I have countless hours speaking and debating in legal which might not sound like much but I believe it is gold. It is years of fleshing out ideas, seeing how legal concepts or theorys stand under criticism and learning from hundreds of the greatest legal minds to play this server.
- Links to cases you have been involved in: Please dont make me list this as it is 100+. A majority of them are here already if you scroll up.
- Additional Information: I wish to give this job the best I have but I will promise that unlike some that have come before me, I will resign when my best is not good enough.

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?:

Strengths: Fairness and impartiality are two of my strongest traits. I don't base my decisions on friendships or personal opinions, but rather on evidence and server rules. I am calm under pressure, patient, and able to articulate my points in a way that makes everyone feel heard. In order to make accurate decisions, I also take rules seriously and pay great attention to specifics like chat logs and timelines.

Weaknesses: One of my weaknesses is that I occasionally spend more time going over information to make sure my choice is the right one. I'm learning to strike a balance between thoroughness and efficiency, even though this promotes fairness. I also like to settle disputes amicably, but I'm trying to be more firm and decisive when strong authority is needed.

- Why do you want this position?:

I genuinely care about justice and the general well-being of the server community, which is why I want this job. A judge is crucial in ensuring that the rules are followed consistently and that players are respected and feel heard. I like to settle disputes amicably and rationally, and I think this position enables me to make a constructive contribution by keeping drama and miscommunications from getting worse.

Additionally, I would like to support the staff team and assume more responsibility. I would be able to use my knowledge of the rules, communication abilities, and sense of justice to help keep a fair and entertaining environment for all players if I were to become a judge.

- Are you able to effectively communicate with a team? Explain:

I can communicate with a team in an efficient manner, yes. When working with other employees, I think it's crucial to communicate politely and clearly, especially in positions like judges that call for consistency and coordination. Before making a decision, I feel at ease debating cases, exchanging evidence, and hearing other points of view.

I also recognize how crucial it is to maintain orderly and professional communication, whether via Discord or in-game chat. I answer politely, seek clarification when needed, and give concise updates when required. This makes it easier for the staff team to stay informed and collaborate effectively in order to respect server policies and preserve an equitable atmosphere.

- What kind of legal experience do you have on DC outside of the court?:

I have relevant experience on Discord outside of formal court proceedings, even though I lack real-world legal experience. I've reviewed evidence like chat logs, screenshots, and recordings, and I know how crucial it is to confirm context and authenticity before making judgments. I have experience resolving conflicts, debating rule interpretations, and clearly and methodically communicating decisions to others.
