AMEND THE CONSTITUTION

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Strike Action Act’

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon assent.

(3) This Act has been authored by Gwi Styx.

(4) This Act has been sponsored by Representative antonfr and co-sponsored by Representatives NovaKerbal and MJL_, and Senator TrueDarklander.

(5) This Act amends the Constitution.

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) The importance of strike action has become evident in the Commonwealth during recent events.

(2) The law does not provide adequate protections over the right for the workers to engage in industrial action.

(3) The right to strike should be enshrined in our constitution, alongside our other fundamental rights and freedoms.

PART II — AMENDMENT

3. Amendment to the Constitution

(1) The following shall be appended to Section 35 of the Constitution:

“(18) Every citizen has the right, individually or collectively, to withdraw their labour and participate in peaceful strike action without retaliation or penalty.”
