Delete the Saviour Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Savior* Act'.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Representative TheReal42Person.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Sen. Dartanman.

2 - Reasons
(1) The Saviour Act is outdated.
(2) It does not specify whether these offenses are indictable or summary.
(3) This act seeks to correct this by integrating the offenses into various acts in the Standardized Criminal Code.

3 - Repealed
(1) The following acts are hereby repealed:
(a) Saviour Act

4 - Section 5 of the “Violent Offenses Act” shall be amended as follows:
“(4) Falsely Claiming Self Defense
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
The act of falsely claiming you acted under self defense when committing another crime.
Per Offense: Doubles the punishment for all crimes which were claimed to be under self defense.”

(10) Weaponry in Safe Zones (Original: pugbandit - Feb 15, 2021)
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
The possession of weapons in safe zones (Hospital, Spawn, Capitol, Government House, and the Courthouse).
First Offense: Verbal Warning
Second Offense: $80 Fine
Third Offense: $120 Fine + 5 Minutes Jail

(11) Public Nuisance (Original: pugbandit - Feb 15, 2021)
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
The act of willfully causing substantial and unreasonable interference by disrupting, destroying, or trolling DPA-sanctioned Events, government-sanctioned events, or political rallies of any kind in its planning, building/creation, and or execution.
First Offense: Verbal Warning + Dismissal from event (if participating)
Second Offense: $60 Fine + 5 Minutes Jail
Third Offense: $100 Fine + 15 Minutes Jail


5 - Section 4 of the “Miscellaneous Offenses Act” shall be amended as follows:
(1) Contempt of Court (Original: pugbandit - Feb 15, 2021)
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
The disobedience of an order of a court. Conduct tending to obstruct or interfere with the orderly administration of justice also qualifies as contempt of court. A party that fails to perform a specific act, in accordance with a judgment by a court, can be charged with contempt and subsequently penalized.
First Offense: $500 Fine
Second Offense: $1000 Fine + 5 Minutes Jail
Third Offense: Maximum $2500 + up to 10 Minutes Jail.”

“(3) False Accusation (Original: huney69 - Jul 13, 2021)
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
The act of falsely accusing someone of a crime and attempting to incur legal punishment when they could reasonably infer that the accused was innocent.
Per Offense: $100 Fine”

"(7) Incitement (Original: pugbandit - Feb 15, 2021)
(i) Classification: Indictable Criminal Offense
The attempt to coax or encourage someone to break the law.
Minimum Sentencing: $1000 Fine
Maximum Sentencing: $3000 Fine + 15 Minutes Jail Time


(8) Frivolous Court Case (Original: pugbandit - Feb 15, 2021)
(i) Classification: Summary Criminal Offense
Lodging a legal case that has no serious purpose or value.
Per Offense: $100

(9) Obstruction of Justice (Original: pugbandit - Feb 15, 2021)
(i) Classification: Indictable Criminal Offense
Willfully interfering with the process of justice through influencing, threatening, harming, or impeding a witness, potential witness, police officer or by providing false information.
First Offense: Verbal Warning
Second Offense: 10 Minutes Jail + $100 Fine
Third Offense: 20 Minutes Jail + $200 Fine
