A BILL TO

REPEAL THE DIGITAL WILL REGISTRY ACT

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘No More Wills Act’

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

(3) This Act has been authored by Representative EATB.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative JuliaMC_.

(5) This Act amends the following acts:

(a) Digital Will Registry Act

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) The Digital Will Registry has seen a significant lack of practical use by players since its inception, rendering it a defunct piece of bureaucracy.

(2) Estate planning and the drafting of a Will should inherently be a private matter determined between a player and their chosen legal counsel, rather than a publicly registered government database.

(3) Players should bear the personal responsibility of distributing their own assets, transferring their wealth, and settling their affairs before their departure. They should not be pushing the administrative burden of liquidating and distributing their estate onto the Department of State and the broader government.

PART II — PROVISIONS

3. Repeals

(1) The Digital Will Registry Act is hereby repealed in its entirety.

- Worst case we can always rebuild it after getting rid of it, but as it stands, we'd be better off getting rid of it in my opinion.

Presidential Assent

This bill has received Presidential assent and is hereby signed into law.

Reason: This Bill repeals the Digital Will Registry, which has gone largely unused. This leaves estate matters as a private affair between a player and their counsel.
