Create a Minimum Wage​

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:


1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Minimum Wage Act 2020”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

2 - Requirements and Information.
(1)An Employee must prove in Court that they have done work for someone and have not been paid in accordance with this Law.

(2)Contactors are permitted to be paid for a project’s completion rather than every 15 minutes but for every 15 minutes they spend actively working on the project they must be paid at least 10$.

You must be actively working.

3 - Minimum Wage
(1) A player is entitled to a minimum of 10$ for every 15 minutes of work.
This provision applies to all employment and will be monitored by the Department of Education & Commerce through random audits.

(2) The employee is permitted to take their employer to court if they believe they have been underpaid and/or their rights outlined in this Law have been violated where a judge will deliver a verdict.

(3) If an entity(company/business) Is found to have paid their employees below the minimum wage, the employee has the right to sue the entity(company/business) In order to recover their lost wages in which they are entitled to.

(4) The Department of Education & Commerce and the Department of Justice will be responsible for any administrative action as a result of a court decision; such as disbanding a company and fining the parties involved.

4 - Reasoning
(1)The Purpose of this Minimum wage law is to ensure employees are being paid a fair liveable wage, for the work undertaken by them.

(2)The reason for increasing the minimum wage is due to inflation.

5 - Punishments
1st Offence: Unpaid Wages paid to the Employee + 500$ compensation paid to the employee

2nd Offence: Unpaid Wages paid to the Employee + 500$ compensation paid to employee + 500$ Fine

3rd Offence: Unpaid Wages paid to the Employee + 500$ compensation paid to employee + 750$ Fine

4th Offence: Unpaid Wages paid to the Employee + 500$ compensation paid to employee + 1000$ Fine

5th Offence: Unpaid Wages paid to the Employee + 500$ compensation paid to employee + 2000$ Fine + Entity(Company/Business) to be disbanded by the DEC.

3 - Minimum Wage

(1) A player is entitled to a minimum of $7.5 for 15 minutes of work (Only money will be sufficient to the wage, there will be no paying using items). This is to make sure that each citizen is paid fairly for their work. This provision applies to all employment and will be monitored by the Department of Education & Commerce through random audits.

(2) The employee must take the employer to court if they believe they have been underpaid where a judge will deliver a verdict.

(3) If an entity is found to pay employees or contractors below the minimum wage, the employee / contractor has the right to sue in order to recover the due payment. The entity, if found guilty, is liable to pay up to $500 in additional fines. If the business is found to repeat this action more than five (5) times, the business will be disbanded.

(4) The Department of Education & Commerce will be responsible for any administrative action as a result of a court decision; such as disbanding a company and fining the parties involved.

3 - Commissions
(1) A player is entitled to a payment of at least $7.5 per 15 minutes in commissioned work. This is gauged off of an initial quote provided by the employee / contractor.

(2) An entity is not liable for any breaches of minimum wage if they were provided with an incorrect quote.
(a) This clause is nullified where a company requests work outside of the initial quote agreement.

(4) This Act is co-sponsored by Representative BlogWorldExpo & Senator poemhunter.

2 - Reasons
(1) No one uses the Minimum Wage Act, and it is hard to enforce. We have Minimum Commission from the Commission Expansion Act of 2021 which is much easier to track and enforce.

3 - Terms
(1) Hereby repeals the Minimum Wage Act.

This bill has been granted assent and is hereby signed into law.
