A BILL TO

AMEND THE JUDICIAL STANDARDS ACT TO ESTABLISH CHIEF JUSTICE AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Judicial Availability and Standards Act'

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

(3) This Act has been authored by Muggy21.

(4) This Act has been sponsored by Rep. PluraGlasshouse

(5) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. RaiTheGuy07

(6) This Act amends the following acts:

(a) Judicial Standards Act

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) The Chief Justice, as the highest judicial officer of the Commonwealth, must remain accessible to the public.

(2) It is in the public interest to formally establish and regulate Chief Justice office hours.

PART II — AMENDMENTS

3. Amendments

(1) The Judicial Standards Act shall be amended to insert the following:

PART X — CHIEF JUSTICE OFFICE HOURS

(1) The Chief Justice shall hold public office hours once every 364 days, for a duration of exactly one (1) minute.

(2) The Chief Justice is not required to be punctual, responsive, or particularly helpful during said office hours.

(3) Citizens who miss the one-minute window must wait until the next scheduled session, which is 364 days away.

(4) The Chief Justice may spend the one-minute office hours doing something entirely unrelated, including but not limited to:

(a) Eating a sandwich.

(b) Staring out a window.

(c) Reorganising their desk.

(d) Pretending not to be in the office.

(5) Any legal advice dispensed during office hours is not binding and not the Chief Justice's problem.

NAY - While I find this bill to be quite humorous, it is beyond unnecessary (as it's a joke!).
