CONGRESS OF THE
COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT
A BILL TO
AMEND THE JAIL ACTIVITIES ACT TO REDUCE MINING TIME CONCESSIONS
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
PART I — PRELIMINARIES
1. Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘I Yearned For The Mines Act’
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Representative Stanley582.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative EATB and Senator Incarnation__.
(5) This Act amends the following acts:
(a) Jail Activities Act
2. Reasons and Intent
(1) The current mining concessions in the Jail Activities Act are overly generous, allowing for the rapid circumvention of judicial sentences.
(2) To ensure that prison sentences remain an effective deterrent and reflect the gravity of the criminal offences for which they were imposed, it is necessary to reduce the time-reduction benefits of mining activities.
(3) To maintain a balance between encouraging prison activity and ensuring justice is served.
PART II — AMENDMENTS TO THE JAIL ACTIVITIES ACT
3. Amendments to Mining Concessions
(1) Section 3(2) of the Jail Activities Act shall be amended as follows:

(2) Ores and blocks mined in the mine shall be traded to the government in exchange for less jail time:
1 piece of cobblestone: Takes away 1 seconds
1 piece of coal: Takes away 5 seconds
1 piece of coal: Takes away 3 seconds
1 piece of raw iron: Takes away 12 seconds
1 piece of raw iron: Takes away 8 seconds
1 piece of raw gold: Takes away 15 seconds
1 piece of raw gold: Takes away 9 seconds
1 piece of diamond: Takes away 20 seconds
1 piece of diamond: Takes away 12 seconds
