Executive Order 04/26 - Establishing National Food, Drink, and Culinary Celebration
Whereas, a "President may issue and revoke Executive Orders to ensure good governance of the server" (Const. 24(5));Whereas, the Executive has previously designated national food and national sports;
Whereas, the promotion of tea, pancakes, and Taco Tuesday will improve the server's governance through community building and promotion of shared culinary values;
Therefore, by the authority vested in me by the Redmont Constitution, I, Multiman155, President of the Commonwealth of Redmont, do declare the following under this Executive Order:
§ 1. INTENT AND PURPOSE
The Commonwealth of Redmont recognizes that shared culinary traditions strengthen community bonds and promote civic engagement among its citizens. The purpose of this Executive Order is to establish official food and drink designations and a recurring weekly food celebration within the Commonwealth.
§ 2. OFFICIAL FOOD OF THE COMMONWEALTH
Pancakes are hereby designated as the Official Food of the Commonwealth of Redmont. This designation shall be recognized across all territories, towns, and jurisdictions within the Commonwealth.
§ 2.1. RECOGNITION AND PROMOTION
All federal and local government bodies are encouraged to:
- Acknowledge the pancake as the Official Food of the Commonwealth in relevant publications and materials;
- Promote pancake-related commerce and culinary enterprises within their jurisdictions;
- Feature pancakes at government-sponsored events and functions where food service is provided.
Tea is hereby designated as the Official Food of the Commonwealth of Redmont. This designation shall be recognized across all territories, towns, and jurisdictions within the Commonwealth.
§ 3.1. RECOGNITION AND PROMOTION
All federal and local government bodies are encouraged to:
- Acknowledge Tea as the Official Drink of the Commonwealth in relevant publications and materials;
- Promote tea-related commerce and culinary enterprises within their jurisdictions;
- Feature tea at government-sponsored events and functions where beverage service is provided.
Every Tuesday within the Commonwealth of Redmont is hereby designated as "Taco Tuesday." Taco Tuesday shall serve as a weekly celebration of community, cuisine, and the culinary diversity of the Commonwealth.
§ 4.1. OBLIGATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
On Taco Tuesday:
- All government-operated food facilities within the Commonwealth are encouraged to offer at least one taco-based menu item;
- Private food vendors and restaurants are encouraged, but not required, to participate by offering taco specials or promotions;
- Town governments may organize local Taco Tuesday events and may apply for Events grants under EO 46/25, Section 12 for such activities.
For the purposes of this Executive Order, a "taco" is defined as any food item consisting of a filling wrapped or served in a folded or rolled tortilla or similar flatbread. Burritos, quesadillas, and similar tortilla-based items shall qualify under this definition, and the Department of Education is encouraged to create and maintain custom foods in order to ensure Taco Tuesday may provide enjoyment for diverse palates.
§ 5. DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
§ 5.1. DEPARTMENT OF THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS
The Department of the Public Affairs shall coordinate Taco Tuesday promotional efforts and may organize Commonwealth-wide events to celebrate the designation.
§ 5.2. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
The Department of Health shall ensure that all food items served under this Executive Order shall ensure that tea, tacos (as defined in § 4.2), and pancakes be sold in the Hospital.
§ 5.2. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
The Department of Education shall ensure that all items named in this executive order be maintained as recipes in-game.
§ 6. TOWN PARTICIPATION
Towns are encouraged to adopt local bylaws supporting Taco Tuesday, the promotion of the Official Food, and the promotion of the Official Drink. Town-specific adaptations, such as themed taco menus reflecting the town's designated industry or theme, are permitted and encouraged.
§ 7. PENALTIES
No citizen shall be fined, penalized, or otherwise sanctioned for declining to consume tacos on a Tuesday or pancakes at any time. This Executive Order operates on a spirit of encouragement towards citizens, not compulsion thereof.
§ 8. DEFINITIONS
Official Food: A food item designated by the Executive as a symbol of the Commonwealth.
Official Drink: A drink item designated by the Executive as a symbol of the Commonwealth.
Taco Tuesday: A weekly designation occurring every Tuesday in which taco-based food items are celebrated and promoted.
§ 9. ENACTMENT
- This Executive Order shall be enacted immediately.
- All federal Departments referenced herein shall implement the provisions of this Order within four (4) days of enactment.
- Executive Order 11/2 - National Symbols II is repealed.
