Legislate the position of Chief of Staff into Oakridge Law​

The citizens of Oakridge, through their elected Representatives in the Town-Council and the force of law ordained to that Town-Council by the people through the constitution of Oakridge, do hereby enact the following provisions into the by-laws:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Chief of Staff Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

2 - Reasons
(1) Currently, the Chief of Staff is not mentioned anywhere in Oakridge law.
(2) This Act aims to change that.

3 - Chief of Staff
(1) The Chief of Staff is a member of the Executive who bears the following responsibilities:

(a) Facilitating voting on bills proposed by the Town Council, and ensuring their timely passage.
(b) Advising the Mayor on matters relating to the Executive.
(c) Assisting the Town Council in the operation of their offices.​

(2) The Chief of Staff is nominated by the Mayor and must be approved by the Town Council with a simple majority.
(3) The Chief of Staff may be removed with a supermajority of the Town Council voting in favor of removal.
(4) The Chief of Staff will serve a term that is concurrent with the Town Council, their term will conclude upon the election of a new Town Council.

4 - Amendment
The Legislative Processes Act in the Oakridge Bylaws (link) will be amended as follows:

4. The Mayor Chief of Staff will put a bill to vote by changing the bills prefix to 'Bill: Vote' and by alerting Council Members of the vote in #┃𝐕𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 on Discord.
