CONGRESS OF THE
COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT
A BILL TO
AMEND THE CONSTITUTION
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the
Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution,
do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1. Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Caretaker Period Efficiency Act’
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Rep PluraGlasshouse.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep Stanley582.
(5) This Act amends the following acts:
(a) Commonwealth of Redmont Constitution Act
2. Reasons and Intent
(1) The current Caretaking Period is 10 days, while the entire term is only 8 weeks. This is far
too long and makes the government more inefficient for no good reason.
(2) We do not need to shorten the declaration period, which is useful for candidates to
campaign, discuss policies, and host debates.
(3) DC is a fast moving enviornment, and good bills that would benefit the server if passed end
up getting delayed for a much longer time than necessary.
(4) Setting the Caretaking period at 4 days does most of what Caretaking is intended to do while
also not delaying government operations for longer than necessary.
PART II — AMENDMENTS
1. Amendments to the
Commonwealth of Redmont Constitution Act
(1) Part I, Section 7 of the
Commonwealth of Redmont Constitution Act is to be amended as follows:
7. Electoral Terms and Limitations
(2) Caretaker. Congress will enter caretaker 10 4 days before the polls are set to close for the
general Congressional election and will leave caretaker immediately after the election results for
the aforementioned election are put into effect.
