Firm Name
Barclays Commercial Bank

Which grant pool are you applying for?
Innovation, Startup, Research and Development (R&D)

How do you plan on using your grant funding?
Patent application for banking devices in-game, banking website or discord bot for the corporation, the legal costs and other costs for the establishment of 2 new subsidiaries Apple and Greggs, as well as patent applications for food items such as Sausage Rolls. We plan to use about 10k for the website/bot, about 8k for the subsidiaries legal fees and other costs, and about 32k for the patents (one being a device with a GUI and texture and tool-like purposes costing 21k, the other being a food item with texture costing 11k). The majority of this fund is therefore to be used for R&D and innovation purposes, with a small portion of it being used on legal fees. If any of these is not possible to fund or I may have misunderstood, please let me know.

Ideal Grant Amount 50K

If awarded, I intend to use the grant money allocated to me for its intended purpose on which it was approved for, and provide a breakdown in my application thread of how the funding was used.

Unfortunately, your grant application has been denied. While we appreciate the detailed breakdown of your intended expenses for patents, website/bot development, and subsidiary establishment, the Department has determined that your firm would have no difficulty acquiring sufficient capital to fund these ventures independently following your recent successful IPO. The core intent of the Department of Commerce grant program is to help businesses get off the ground and to support entrepreneurs who genuinely require financial assistance to turn their ideas into reality. Because of your well endowed background, awarding a $50,000 grant would not be an efficient use of government funds meant for those in need of startup or expansion support. We wish you the best of luck with your continued expansion and R&D projects.
