Amend the Criminal Code Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the ''Perjury Not-So-Quick Fix Act"
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Citizen malka.
(4) This Act has been sponsored by Representative Smami.
(5) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative .CaldironJa1.

2 - Reasons
1. Perjury being indictable means that it must be prosecuted by the commonwealth, as shown by common law.
2. This bill seeks to do this by amending the Criminal Code Act.

3 - Amendments

Part 3 of the Criminal Code Act shall be Amended as follows:

Offence Type: Indictable Summary
Penalty: Up to 500 Penalty Units; up to 60 minutes imprisonment
A person commits an offence if the person:
(a) knowingly provides false testimony in a court of law.

Aye - Streamlines the process and it can still be appealed if believed false.
 
Aye - As mentioned during the in-game session it brings this charge in line with Contempt of Court/Congress, and may still be appealed through the Court system if intent is at issue.
