Why do you think you are suited to the position you are applying for? I am a highly educated macro economist in real life, following works by John Maynard Keynes and Freidrich Hayek, I've contemporary works such as 1929 by Andrew Ross Sorkin, Too big to fail by Andrew Ross Sorkin, The Smartest guys in the room by Bethany McLean, A colossal failure of common sense by Larry Mcdonald, Reminiscences of a stock operator and much much more. I can utilize my knowledge to help influence the economy, leading it into a boom like never seen before, only this time without a bust following it. All I ask is a little faith, and a little bit of time.

I deeply request you reconsider, and I promise, this is a decision you will not regret.

I understand the playtime requirement is there for a reason, and I respect that standard. My concern is that my current playtime may not reflect my actual value to the department. I have a strong interest in economics, market structure, and policy analysis, and I believe I can contribute immediately through research, drafting, data interpretation, and supporting ongoing work.

If full reconsideration is not possible at this stage, I would like to ask whether I could be considered for a part-time Associate position under a full-time Economist. I’m fully willing to work under supervision, learn the department’s systems, and prove my reliability through consistent performance rather than playtime alone.

To be direct: I’m not asking for an exception without accountability. I’m asking for an opportunity to demonstrate competence in a role that matches my current eligibility while still allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the department.
