BILL
TO

Amend the Electoral Act & the Constitution

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Special Elections Minor Change Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Representative TheReal42Person.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Sen. v__d.

2 - Reasons
(1) The Senate shouldn't need to control when a House vacancy is filled.
(2) The House shouldn't need to control when a Senate vacancy is filled.

3 - Amendments to the Electoral Act:
"10 - Special Elections
(1) Congressional Proposal. Congress may propose a special election to fill a Congressional vacancy/vacancies.
(2) Approval. Approval requires a simple majority in the chamber with the vacancy."

Nay - Not focusing on the real problem. We should scrap the nomination idea and automatically trigger a special election. Let the people choose their Congress - that's literally the whole point.
