Press Conference 3/30
Press Advisor jorinton » Ladies and gentlemen, the press conference is starting. I ask you all to do /leave general. I ask you to be quiet for now and follow the rules. You will first be addressed by the President, then you will be able to ask me questions. And now, I give you the President of the Commonwealth of Redmont, 1950minecrafter!
President 1950minecrafter » Good morning, afternoon or evening, dear fellow citizens of Redmont. Welcome to the 3rd Press Conference of this Administration. I'm glad to see that people keep attending these conferences
Anyways, this conference shouldn't last for too long, so I'll try to be fast.
So, the first topic I want to mention is that this week we formally announced that we working with the Government of Alexandria on the Olympics. We have created an International Olympics Committee in which each nation has 2 representatives that will organize the Olympics together.
Next topic is that after the famous lawsuit on the Aventura Elections, we've had to re-do the elections, so yeah, Aventura is currently having elections. Make sure to vote!! The Department of Health has announced that they have finally found the cure to Hyperglycemia with Insulin. If you suffer from hyperglycemia, please, reach out to the nearest Pharmacy and get the cure! Stay safe and healthy!
Last Saturday 22nd was the World Water Day, and there were 2 events. One of them was the picture contest. The result of the contest was announced this week and the winners were LL4444444, Kay_Jee and roryyyy__. Congrats to the winners!! Let's all make sure to take care of one of the most important resources that we have: Water!
The DCT also announced the creation of DCT Workshops, in which our talented constructors will give some tips on how to improve your building skills. These are free to attend!
And finally, I'm proud to finally announce the first Executive Orders that I signed yesterday. The first one was basically an EO to regulate these Press Conferences, the Meet the President events and other events for public participation in the Government. The second one was to regulate Department Guides to make sure they don't get lost. The third one was to establish Presidential Addresses to Congress with the aim to increase the legislative check and balances towards the Exectuive, so the President has to answer before the Congress. And finally, I'm proud to announce the creation of the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Redmont! These forces will help us defend our nation in case of an attack and help in catastrophes. The Congress will have to develop military law and define further details that are not in the EO.
There's been some debate today on the rank list, some say it's good, some others think it's too long, some others think the ranks should be renamed. I want to say that I'm open to listening to input on this matter and I'm open to make changes into that EO if those changes can improve the military.
As for this next week, I expect to do different things. I expect to work on the creation of a new grants program for those companies that are managed democratically, such as cooperatives. I also expect to work with the DPA on the development of DCTV. Hopefully, Congress will pass this week a bill to address the plots crisis and we will be able to get to work on that subject.
And finally, after the elections in Aventura end, I will finally be able to meet with both towns mayors and discuss town matters. I've been waiting for this since I assumed the office and I can't wait for that meeting to take place. I'm looking forwards to working the future Aventura Mayor, no matter who that is, and I hope the future Mayor is also looking forwards to working with us. And that's all for today, thank you for attending and listening. I'll leave you now to Jorinton to answer any of your questions. Have a nice day.
Press Advisor jorinton » Thank you, Mr. President. We have 10 minutes for questions, so throw them at me. As always, News Agencies have priority.
[Rep.] Education Manager MissAndrist » Question - what will the President do to crack down on the Oakridge separatists, particularly in regard to the Armed Forces? The EO states it is the only military force allowed to exist in Redmont.
Press Advisor jorinton » Oakridge separatists will be dealt with according to the letter of the law. Rest assured the Administration is relentless in ensuring a situation similar to last week does not occur again. Further details on the Armed Forces will be available along with the publishing of the Executive Order itself.
tortenwashere » Can I ask a question? On Presidential Addresses, has there any been talks to congress and/or related parties on when it would take place?
Press Advisor jorinton » The executive will work with the legislature to schedule the Presidential Adress when both parties realistically schedule it due to time reasons. The executive order will be followed and then the address will be eventually scheduled. Regarding the military justice system, any military justice system will have to be detailed in a following executive order or a bill by Congress. The executive does not plan on forming an entire military justice system as of right now.
Katto » I have a question on behalf of Katzenschau™ News.
Press Advisor jorinton » Yes, Katto?
Katto » Will the WPR/GER split influence the executive in any way? Especially the VP's position?
Press Advisor jorinton » That is more of a question on the WPR Central Committee of which I am no longer a member of. However, as far as I know, as a regular party member, the WPR is doing everything in its ower to ensure a good working relationships with other parties. Regarding the Vice-President, the issue is more about his involvement in Oakridge rather than other anything else. the Administration nor the WPR, during my term as Central Committee member at the very least, has done anything to insult the VP or deliberately try to push him out. We have always attempted reasonable communication.
Nimq_ » If you are granting benefits to democratically managed companies, will this impact traditional companies in any significant way?
Press Advisor jorinton » The goal of the grants it to promote democratically-run companies. Whether it will be efficient enough to do that we will have to see. Thank you all and goodbye.
