CONGRESS OF THE
COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT
A BILL TO
[Amend the Constitution]
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
PART I — PRELIMINARIES
1. Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘New Congressional Members Act’
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by pricelessAgrari.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Senator Raz0Baz0.
2. Reasons
(1) It is hard for newer politicians to get into an office when competing against older, seasoned people.
(2) They might be discouraged and never truly get into Congress.
(3) Twelve hours in the past 30 days may be too hard for people just getting into the office to uphold.
3. Amendments
(1) Part I, Section 8 and 9 shall be amended as follows:
8. Elections for the House of Representatives
(1) Voting System. Elections for the House of Representatives shall be conducted through a system of Single Transferable Vote.
(2) Activity Requirements. In order to run for and maintain their seat in the House of Representatives, citizens need to meet these requirements:
Has 12 10 hours active playtime in the last 30 days.
Has accrued 24 hours of active playtime.
A Representative Candidate can not have served 12 total months in a row as a Representative by the end of their elected term.
(3) House of Representatives Duration. 2 Month Term
(4) House of Representatives Election Months. January, March, May, July, September, and November
9. Elections for the Senate
(1) Voting System. Elections for the Senate shall be conducted through a Single Transferable Vote (STV) system.
(2) Classes. The Senate shall be divided into two classes, Class A and Class B.
(a) When the entire Senate is up for election, the highest-ranking 50% of candidates, as determined by the final STV tally, shall be assigned to Class A. The remaining candidates shall be assigned to Class B.
(3) Activity Requirements. In order to run for and maintain their seat in the Senate, citizens need to meet these requirements:
Has 12 10 hours active playtime in the last 30 days.
Has accrued 72 hours of active playtime.
A Senate Candidate can not have served 12 total months in a row as a Senator by the end of their elected term.
(4) Senate Duration. 4 Month Term
(5) Senate Election Months:
(a) Class A. January, May, September
(b) Class B. March, July, November
