Amend the Legislative Standards Act
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Modified Organization Act'.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Clerk Lethacracy.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Speaker bibsfi4a.
2 - Reasons
(1) To make Redmont’s legislative system more efficient and accessible
3 - Organization Act
(1) The Organization Act is hereby repealed.
4 - Terms
Section “12 - Acts of Congress” the Legislative Standards Act shall be amended from:
“a. Acts of Congress shall be split into the following categories and Acts will be sorted between them based on their primary function:
i. Budgets
ii. Constitutional Law
iii. Property Law
iv. Wilderness Law
v. Economic & Business Law
vi. Breach of Peace Law
vii. Administrative Law
viii. Miscellaneous Laws
ix. Resolutions”
to:
“The Clerk(s) of Congress is responsible for the designation of categories and sorting of Acts. The Clerk(s) (and by extension the Office of Congressional Affairs) should sort Acts based on their primary function with consideration to the public’s understanding of an Act. The Clerk(s)’s decision may be vetoed by the Speaker of the House or the President of the Senate, but neither party has decision capability.”
