Purpose:
The DC Weekly will be a weekly news outlet focusing not only on the biggest here-and-now news but also on the smaller day-to-day news. I think it is important that DC has news that is not only active, when big events are happening, and I don’t believe this role of weekly news is being filled at the moment, with other weekly news outlets being inactive.

Value:
I believe, if given the grant, The DC Weekly can bring tremendous value to DC. The way the grant is applied, by buying websites and discords from playerrun companies, directly leans into the grant policy’s focus on economic worth. This grant will not only create a new-thinking news company, but will contribute to the economy at large by spending the grant in the playerrun part of the economy.

Future Funding:
This grant will plant the seed for The DC Weekly, but to continue running, I expect The DC Weekly to continue running on a mix of advertisements and paid articles, which is something I believe should be tried. I believe there could be a demand for premium high quality articles that requires just a small payment to access. Furthermore I believe in the goals The DC Weekly is trying to achieve and will therefore also put extra effort into finding alternative revenue sources.

Of course

I am a bit unsure of what you want me to break down, but I'll give it a try.

As stated in the proposal, the idea is to strengthen the player-led economy and to do this players need a stable and secure amount of income. There as stateted in the proposal, I am applying for 4 journalist who work for a set salary of 5000$/mo instead of the current freelance model, where journalists are paid for by the article. This will greatly strengthen the buying power of players, because of the secured income. I am also hoping this will avoid stressful "no work, no pay" situations, where players get stressed because of irl obligations and therefore cannot deliver the ig work. By knowing you will be payed regardless, these situations tend to become less stressful.
