TO
give towns more freedom
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Local Corporate Tax Act”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Bill was authored by Councilman Icypenguin79 tekko.
2 - Reasons
(1) Currently, towns are not able to provide tax incentives if a company moves there.
(2) Towns are currently unable to tax corporations based locally to provide for local services.
3- Terms
(1) Businesses may register their business in a specific town or city by replying to their business thread with the town/city name.
(2) Towns may override tax policy when it comes to businesses if they wish. This includes the corporate tax rate, as well as balance reporting.
(3) Towns must notify the DEC of any local policy change.
