CONGRESS OF THE
COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT






A BILL TO

AMEND THE LEGISLATIVE STANDARDS ACT TO CLARIFY RENUMBERING




The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Legislative Standards Renumbering Amendment Act.'

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

(3) This Act has been authored by Rep. ToadKing.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. IgnitedTnT.

(5) This Act amends the following acts:

(a) Legislative Standards Act

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) To clarify that structural numbering and lettering that is not part of the substantive wording of a bill may be amended using yellow, consistent with the existing rewording convention.

PART II — AMENDMENTS

3. Amendments

(1) Section 10(1)(c) of the Legislative Standards Act shall be amended as follows:

"(c) All text being reworded in an amended bill must be in a shade of yellow.

(i) Numbers or equations that are being changed may not be visualized in yellow., except as provided below.

(ii) Structural numbering and lettering used solely to organise the provisions of an Act may be marked in yellow. This includes:
(1) part numbers;
(2) section numbers;
(3) subsection numbers; and
(4) paragraph letters.
"
