To
Amend the Legislative Standards Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Legislative Standards Amendment Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Deputy Speaker Scassany.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Speaker Talion77 and President of the Senate Multiman155.

2 - Reasons
(1) An oversight in the previous LSA Amendment did not allow sufficient time for voters to change their minds
(2) To Amend the Legislative Standards Act.

3 - Amendments
(1) Section 9 of the Legislative Standards Act shall have the following lines amended as follows:
"
(3) The Speaker may declare the vote closed if: After 48 Hours have passed, all votes have been submitted, or a majority has been reached. Should the vote not be closed by the Speaker it will be automatically closed after 48 hours have passed. After the vote closes:
(5) The President of the Senate may declare the vote closed if: After 48 Hours have passed, all votes have been submitted, or a majority has been reached. Should the vote not be closed by the President of the Senate, it will be automatically closed after 48 hours have passed. After the vote closes:
"

(2) Section 12 of the Legislative Standards Act shall have the following lines amended as follows:
"A Congressional motion is a formal request for approval or disapproval by Congress. Unless otherwise provided, all motions are passed or failed on a majority basis and can be proposed by any member of a congressional chamber. All motions will have a default voting period of 48 hours, unless otherwise specified in statute or the standing orders of the relevant chamber. The presiding officer may declare the vote closed earlier than the specified voting period when the casting of additional aye or nay votes by members who have not yet voted could not change the result of the vote. Motions will be voted on by both chambers of congress, unless it is specified within the motion and not required by law for that type of motion. In order for a motion to be passed, it must pass a vote in all of the chambers in which it was voted on. Examples include, but are not limited to:"

(3) Section 12 of the Legislative Standards Act shall be amended to have the names of the listed motions in bold.
