RESOLUTION
To

Amend the Standing Orders of the Third Council of Aventura​

ENACTED by the Council of Aventura:

1 – Short Title
(1) This Resolution may be cited as the 'Legislation Passage Quick-Fix Resolution.'
(2) This Resolution has been authored and sponsored by: Mayor Budgiebud

2 – Reasons
(1) The current legislative procedure is inherently undemocratic and allows two councillors to enact whatever they please.

3 – Amendments
(1) Section I (d) of the Standing Orders for the Standing Orders for the 3rd Council of Aventura shall be replaced with the following:

(d) After 48 hours, or if a majority of the Council have supported or rejected the Bill:
(i) If passed, the Bill shall be presented to the Mayor for Assent or Veto. If assented to, it shall be moved to the Acts of Council forum and tagged “Act of Council”.
(ii) If failed, it shall be moved to the Archive forum and tagged “Bill: Rejected”.
(iii) The Speaker may extend the deadline by 24 hours if a majority of the Council have not voted on the Bill.
