Reform Criminal Records​

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Justice Documentation Act”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Representative Westray

2 - Purpose
(1) The purpose of this bill is to revise and update criminal records, as well as to codify protocols for documenting crimes.

3 - Repeal
(1) Hereby repeal and rescinds the “Rights of Criminals Act”

4 - Request of Criminal Records
(1) Citizens have the right to view their own criminal records.
(2) A Sergeant or higher ranking department official is obligated to provide such criminal records upon request from any citizen.
(3) This request must be handled in a timely manner, with a maximum of one week.

5 - Crime Documentation
(1) The Department of Justice is obligated to keep documentation of all arrests.
(2) Citizens cannot be charged with a crime if there is no criminal record of such.
