Which grant pool are you applying for?
News and Media

How do you plan on using your grant funding?
I am applying for the full 150,000 grant.
This will cover the remaining costs needed for OTB’s first play to begin seeking actors, and beginning rehearsal. This play, a classic in science fiction, is known world wide for being the origin of the word; Robot. R.U.R; Rossom’s Universal Robots sees the foundation of the classic robot uprising firmly set, through the eyes of the creators who thought themselves untouchable by their creations.
The total funds needed for the production is;
$261,000
I currently have;
$101,240.28
And can make an extra $10,000 on my own.
With the 150,000 from the grant, our goal will be met and we can spend the money as follows;
Hiring 18 actors for the play RUR
They will earn 3.5k every rehearsal day, paid at the end of the day.
On show days, their pay is increased to 4k.
This allows for three full dress rehearsals, and 1 show per month.

Land has already been secured, and a stage is being built to accommodate the plays. Located on the waterfront in reville and surrounded by amazing builds, we sit in a prime location for players.

Being an extremely unique experience, we not only have the opportunity to attract internal media attention giving our reporters more things to do, but also external attention as well. How glorious would it be to have the next trollingarch wave cause not by disaster tourism, but by a genuine interest in the artistry, the ingenuity, and the skill of the players of our server? Perhaps even leading to a greater arts sector, adding aa whole new element to the city RP!

Funding this grant, when thought of this way, is indeed directly funding the future culture of the server, and forever creating an avenue of preservation for the history of it as well. Think back to our own history, see how much of it was shaped by the artists, poets, composers, and performers of the past, and fund that future for DemocracyCraft!

I am sincerely grateful for your time, and wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors,

Ideal Grant Amount $150,000

If awarded, I intend to use the grant money allocated to me for its intended purpose on which it was approved for, and provide a breakdown in my application thread of how the funding was used.
Yes

Very unique idea. Could you provide a better breakdown of the 261k? Is this all actor pay?

What’s you revenue model and estimated revenue. Specifically how do you plan to continue funding this company when one production costs a huge sum. How many runs per production (if applicable) how often.

Please provide other details as much as possible.

Entirely!
18 actors x 3.5k is 63,000 per rehearsal day and at 4k for the show day, that's going to be $72,000 so smaller plays or actors playing multiple roles saves us money.
Taking those per day numbers, with 3 rehearsals and 1 show day with final rehearsal and 2 shows for 18 actors the total cost for this month's production is $261,000.

We plan to sell tickets, coming in at about $100 for house seats, and $10,000 for balcony seats.

We'd like to do this about once a month but in our early stages it make take two months per production. We're hoping that once we get the first production out for people to see, we can rely on donations from those of the upper class who wish to support the arts, as well as any of these grants we are able to secure.

To speak bluntly; Theatre Companies are not profitable on their own. 80% of Broadway shows do not make a profit, and even fail to recuperate their losses. The reason they are able to still remain open is that large companies like Disney and individuals within New York's Elite donating and buying into the companies that line the street at the center of New York's performing district. We are in our infancy however, we do not have decades of history to wow investors and donors with, and this grant allows us to actually display our talent and earn those future donations, private grants, and sponsorships.
