To
Amend the Constitution

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Freedom of Knowledge Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Rep. Yeet_Boy.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. CaseyLeFaye.

2 - Reasons
(1) In the past, the government, specifically the Department of Legal Affairs, had detained people without informing them as to what they were being detained for. This bill aims to prevent that from happening again.

3 - Amendment to the Constitution
(1) Section 32 of the Redmont Constitution shall be amended as follows:

XVII. Every citizen has the right to be informed of the reason for a subpoena, detention, or arrest made against them.
