A BILL TO

AMEND THE FIREARMS LICENSING ACT

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:



PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Firearms Licensing Clarification Act ’

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon assent.

(3) This Act has been authored by Gwi Styx.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Rep. Musclebound

(5) This Act amends the Firearms Licensing Act.

2. Reasons and Intent
(1) The scope of grounds for denial of firearms licenses under the current Act is too narrow.

(2) The Act should expressly permit the Department of Homeland Security to deny applications where an applicant refuses to agree to lawful firearms regulations, submits an incomplete or untruthful application, or seeks an Enhanced License without the required approval.


PART II — AMENDMENT

4. Amendment to the Firearms Licensing Act

(1) Section 4(2)(b) of the Firearms Licensing Act shall be amended as follows:

“(b) Applications will only be denied if the applicant:
(i) already holds a firearms license, valid or otherwise; or
(ii) is subject to § 4.3.(d).(i) applies.;
(iii) is not a Redmontian citizen;
(iv) makes an incomplete, materially false, or materially misleading application;
(v) refuses to affirm any declaration required by the application process; or
(vi) has applied for an Enhanced Licence and is not authorised to hold one under § 4(3)(a).
”
