Executive Order 21/26 - Executive Holidays​

Whereas, Secretaries have the responsibility of "[c]reating and amending departmental policy in accordance with the President’s direction" (Const. 24(5))
Whereas, a "President may issue and revoke Executive Orders to ensure good governance of the server" (Const. 24(5));
Whereas, Section 29(1)(b) of the Constitution tasks Secretaries with "[c]reating and amending departmental policy in accordance with the President’s direction".
Whereas, server leadership has changed its stance on references to holidays, such as Christmas, to deem them controversial topics that should not been discussed in-game;
Whereas, nevertheless, the Executive remains committed to providing regular breaks and will do this through establishment of executive holidays;
Whereas, the Congress has passed the LDV Town Day Resolution to commemorate certain town holidays;
Whereas, the Congress has passed the Congrats Joan Resolution to commemorate a holiday on May 20;
Whereas, the Congress has passed the Heritage, Observance, and National Occasion of Remembrance Act to Commemorate Commonwealth Day on April 12;

Therefore, by the authority vested in me by the Redmont Constitution, I, Multiman155, President of the Commonwealth of Redmont, do declare the following under this Executive Order:

§ 1. PURPOSE AND INTENT
The purposes of this executive order are:
(1) to revise Executive Order 20/26 -June 2026 EO Cleanup following conversation with the server leadership team in order to create dispersed holidays that do not refer to commonly celebrated real-world holidays;
(2) to list holidays in this EO, for maintainability and future amendment.

§ 2. INSTALLING REGULAR HOLIDAYS
(1) The Executive shall commemorate certain holidays. On holidays, departments are encouraged to not require individuals to perform department work when such work is not necessary.
(2) Work is to be considered necessary when the department is an emergency service, when a statutory deadline may require work to be done before a certain date, when such work is required to facilitate elections, or when such work is required to perform the core statutory obligations of a particular government department.
(3) The Executive shall commemorate the following holidays on the following dates, in addition to any holidays required by statute:
(a) January 1 - New Year's Day;
(b) February 1 - Willow Day;
(c) March 6 - Constitution Day;
(d) April 12 - Commonwealth Day;
(e) May 20 - "Congrats Joan" Day;
(f) May 28 - Aventura Day;
(g) June 7 - Six-Seven National Day;
(h) July 16 - Judiciary Appreciation Day;
(i) August 5 - Judicial Rulings Transcription Program Day;
(j) September 4 - Freedom of Information Day;
(k) September 30 - National Museum Day;
(l) October 8 - Hamilton Remembrance Day;
(m) November 21 - Oakridge Day;
(n) November 26 - Klondike Day;
(o) December 31 - New Year's Eve;
(4) Nothing in this Executive Order shall be construed to restrict the commemorations of other holidays enshrined elsewhere in law or department policy that are not directly included herein.
(5) All timezones of commemoration shall be consistent with the default timezone established in Executive Order 11/26 §2(2).
(6) The Department of State shall create or amend policy in order to effect these commemorations.

§ 3. MODIFICATIONS TO OTHER EO.
§4 of Executive Order 20/26 - June 2026 EO Cleanup ("INSTALLING REGULAR HOLIDAYS") is repealed. The remainder of the EO shall remain extant.

§ 4. IMPLEMENTATION
This Executive Order shall take immediate effect upon its signing.
