Hello Willow residents! Following the resignation of former Head of Civic Engagement PaintballSteven, the Commission has decided to create an EOI for the position.

I check discord too often if im being honest, (multiple times daily), but I usually don't have a reason to check forums, but give me one and I'm sure I'll manage it.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?:
I believe in honor, courage, and commitment. To stay honest and true, to not be scared of the consequences of owning up to mistakes, and to ensure i put my full effort into a goal. I will say i sometimes get distracted though, but I always make sure I get things done on time.
- Why do you want this position?:
Through my time as an EVC, throughout Redmont, I've always wanted more responsibility in the position, being head of civic engagement is an opportunity i would hate to throw away
- Why are you the best applicant for this role?:
Throughout my time in Redmont, starting in May, I had a freedom in my choices, to be serious and whatnot, to waste my time on side projects. Now with school taking up a lot more time, I've realized I just want to have fun in what I do. That's why I signed up to be an EVC, to have fun and to be a catalyst for other's joy. I believe this position will allow me to ensure that events are happening often, and that nobody goes without a little whimsy in Willow.
- What is your experience in government or leadership roles?:
I don't have a large government leadership presence (yet), but irl I'm in JROTC, and as a more senior cadet, i help other cadets learn the many things required of a cadet. And in my free time each week, as apart of the program, I help teach near 20 people how to shoot competitively. This experience has taught me core leadership skills, including but not limited to: how to address conflict between subordinates, how to ensure we reach a goal on time, and how to organize an event between multiple people

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?: One of my biggest strenghths are my communication and organizational skills. I am able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at once while ensuring effective coordination with team members and participants. For weakness I sometimes take too many responsibilites as I want to get things done properly but I learn to delegate task.

- Why do you want this position?: I want to get this position because I love Willow and being the Head of Civic Engagement lets me have a hands on approach to bring people together and creating a stronger sense of community in Willow. I want to organize meaninful events and activies wich encourage the community members to get more involved. I also see this opportunity to learn and develop my skill while making a positive impact on the community

- Why are you the best applicant for this role?: I am the best applicant for this role as I am approacable willing to take initiative. I believe Civic engagement is not just about hosting events but also about listening to people, encouraging them to participate and make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to contribute in any meaningful way they can. I would like to bring forward active ideas and create opportunites for a wider community involvement.

- What is your experience in government or leadership roles?: I have gained a lot of government experience on the server, serving as a Doctor with the DoH, Detective and Recruit with the DHS, Event Coordinator with the DPA, and as the Commissioner of the Town of Willow. These roles have given me experience of working with lots of different people and within government strcutures. Being the Comissioner of Willow allows me to understand the responsibilities that are involved in serving a town and the importance of leadership roles

- Do you have any prior experience as an event planner? If so, what positions?: I am currently a new EVC with the DPA and hence don't have Event planning experience in DemcracryCraft. However, I have worked planning and hosting events in a different server for a minecraft youtuber which averaged 30-40 attendees.
Some of the events we had were Spleef, Survive the longest (PvP), Build battles/ competitions and parkour challenges. The responsibilities involved setting building event worlds, defining event rules and prizes, coordinating with other members of the server staff, YouTube team and the developer (for certain server side stuff which only the dev had access to), helping event attendees understand the rules and how the event worked and troubleshooting issues during the event.
I am also EVC for Town of Oakridge.

- Additional Information: I have been given the responsibility to manage the Willow Harvest Festival.
