Draftsmen are paid as follows:

Type of workAmountDescriptionCap per congress
Long policy analysis$1500Makes a long, detailed analysis of a policy, bill, or similar item.$30000
Short policy analysis$750Makes a short analysis of a policy, bill, or similar item.$15000
Minor bill drafting work$700Does minor work on a bill on behalf of a member of congress. This is based on the rough proportion of the contents by the individual draftsman.$14000
Major bill drafting work$2000Does major work on a bill on behalf of a member of congress. This is based on the rough proportion of the contents by the individual draftsman.$30000
Advice given to congress$1000Gave advise to congress in relations to what it can do, where something is, how to do it, or similar procedures.$3000

The category any given amount of work falls under is to be determined by the Director of Legislative Affairs. Extremely minor work (eg. minor changing the wording of a bill) which is the only work done on that issue, can be combined with other work in that category, until it can reasonably qualify as one of these categories.

All work done in private messages must reasonably be logged in the proper channels. If a draftsman does not reasonably log it by the end of the congress, it shall not be paid for.

If a draftsman produces enough policy analysis in an unreasonably short time period, without being asked to do so, they may have their pay for that removed. While they can do analysis out of their own will or interest, it is not supposed to allow people to quickly gain 30k from pumping out long policy analysis on topics they chose without prompting.
