We are right now looking for people to fill the following position:
- Director of Legislative Services

Director of Legislative Services
The Director of Legislative Services is the head of the LSC. They are responsible for:
- Drafting legislation.
- Providing non-partisan advice on legislation and policy.
- Reviewing draft legislation for drafting quality and legal consistency.
- manage the day-to-day operations of the LSC.

Requirements for this position:
1. You must have the Attorney license
1. You must not hold a leadership role in any political party.
2. You must not hold office as a Member of Congress, as the President or Vice-President, or as a judicial officer.
3. You must not be standing for election to any of the offices above.

The political-impartiality conditions outlined above apply for the entire period you are employed by the LSC.

Why do you want to work for the LSC?
To serve the Congress as a non-partisan and unbiased advisor.

What can you bring to the role?
My experience as a legislator and lawyer. I've drafted and passed many pieces of legislation. Further, my service as the Deputy Speaker, 3x Representative, and Clerk has taught me valuable experiences regarding the congressional process.

Why is it important for Congress to receive non-partisan advice?
Partisan advice will lead to increased polarisation, decreased legislative capacity, and a reduction in the effectiveness of the Congress. Further, if the advisors to the Congress gain any significant and direct influence on policy and voting, they will have power over the Congress without having been directly elected by the People.
