PROTECT THE CRIMINAL CODE ACT

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Criminal Code Protection Act'.

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

(3) This Act has been authored by Representative _GreyMC and President xXTheoryXx.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative HatManMC.

(5) This Act amends the following acts:
(a) Criminal Code Act

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) We cannot allow the CCA to be easily repealed. The Continued Chaos Act showed us the repercussions with a repealed CCA. Even though that did get a supermajority, we can still take efforts to protect this precious act.

3. Amendments
(1) The following shall be enumerated into the Criminal Code Act as Section §6:

6. Entrenchment

(1) The repeal of this Act, or any amendment which repeals, replaces, or substantively alters more than fifty percent (50%) of the sections of this Act, shall require a supermajority in both chambers of Congress.
(a) Any amendment which repeals, replaces, or amends this section shall also require a supermajority in both chambers of Congress.

(2) In accordance with § 55 of the Constitution, this Act is enacted subject to the same requirement.

(3) Nothing in this section prevents the ordinary amendment of individual offences or provisions by simple majority, provided the threshold in subsection (1) is not met.
