INTRODUCTION
The Courts of Redmont use a simplified system of writs. Writs are written court orders that can be issued in game or on the forums. Failure to comply with court orders may result in arrest and imprisonment. Writs are the Court's way of enforcing its rulings.

Writs can sometimes be issued at the initiative of the court or upon request by either party.

The list below is by no means an exhaustive list. It will be updated in the event a judge deems it necessary.

Nb: Judge is used as a general term and may apply to Magistrates or Justices.

FORMAT
Writs should be delivered in the following format:

EMERGENCY INJUNCTIONS

OTHER COURT ORDERS
Miscellaneous

WRIT OF SUMMONS
A writ compelling an individual to attend to or reply to a Court.

WRIT OF MANDAMUS
A write that requires the government, a government agency, corporation, or subordinate court to do some specific act which that body is obliged under law to do, and which is in the nature of public duty, and in certain cases one of a statutory duty. This is generally used to resolve government disputes.

WRIT OF QUO WARRANTO
Orders the government or a government agency to appear before the court to establish its authority to do something. The respondent may not continue until the court is satisfied that the respondent indeed has the authority to do said thing.

WRIT OF CERTIORARI
A writ of certiorari sets aside a decision made contrary to the law.

WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS
The writ of habeas corpus demands that an incarcerated individual be released from detention until such time that it is determined there is lawful authority to detain the person.
SUA SPONTE DISMISSAL
A sua sponte dismissal is a voluntary dismissal, based on the court’s own motion. The court may enter a sua sponte dismissal of certain aspects of a case, or of the case in its entirety. A judge may order a sua sponte dismissal if he finds major problems with the case. For example, if the judge realizes, on review of the pleadings, that the court lacks jurisdiction over the subject matter, he will order a sua sponte dismissal.
