COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT
A BILL TO
Remove campaign periods from Special Elections
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
PART I — PRELIMINARIES
1. Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Campaign Period Removal Act’
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Angryhamdog.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Speaker of the House Kaiserin_.
(5) This Act amends the following acts:
(a) Electoral Act
2. Reasons and Intent
(1) To speed up special elections
(2) Campaign periods serve a very small purpose, and can simply be replaced by a longer declaration (or voting) period if necessary.
PART II — Amendments
3. Electoral Act Amendments
(1) Section 8 of the Electoral Act shall be amended as follows:
8 - Congressional Special Elections
(3) Election Timeline. The special election will follow a timeline: a 4872-hour declaration period, followed by a 24-hour campaigning period, followed by a 24-hour voting period.
