The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Campaign Espionage Act”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Representative 218218Consumer
2 - Reasons for Proposal
(1) Loopholes in the legal code must be closed to ensure fair political practices in addition to fair business practices. Just as corporate espionage is prohibited by the law, so should be campaign espionage.
(2) Removal from public office is a punishment completely unrelated to corporate espionage and consequently unfitting; this punishment must be amended, especially given an addition of a campaign espionage law.
3 - Purpose
(1) The law “Campaign Espionage” shall be added to Miscellaneous Laws, with the definition of “Any parties participating in or accessory to the gathering, infiltration, or compromise of any sensitive information related to a political campaign that has not already been released to the public, under the instruction of another campaign or entity working in association with another campaign.”
(2) The punishment for Campaign Espionage shall be: “Per offence: The courts may fine up to $5,000 to all those involved in the espionage in addition to removal and exclusion of all parties involved from public office for a period of two months.”
(4) If the Protection of Constitutionality Amendment passes, the punishment of s.2 shall be changed to “Per offence: The courts may fine up to $5,000 to all those involved in the espionage in addition to removal and exclusion of all parties involved from public office or elections for a period of two months.”
