Ensure the Transparency of the Budget​

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Budget Transparency Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Representative 218218Consumer.

2 - Reasons for Proposal
I can’t think of a reason why budgets shouldn’t be public. Here’s why I think they should:
(1) Increased accountability of the executive, allowing for scrutiny directly from the public instead of just from Congress or other cabinet members.
(2) More information to players, so they have a better idea of the affairs of each department based on how they spend their money.

3 - Terms
The #budget channel of the DC discord, under government, shall be made public to all players with the politics role on the discord, along with all cabinet spending exceeding the spending threshold established by appropriations.

Reasoning:

• Circumstance may require for spending to be not made public instantaneously, but the public also should know what tax payer money is being spent on, therefore an update on all expenses will be put in the SOTG Report​
