IN THE FEDERAL COURT OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT
CIVIL ACTION
EditVoxel
Plaintiff
v.
LavBebik
Defendant
COMPLAINT
The Plaintiff complains against the Defendant as follows:
WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM THE PLAINTIFF
On June 9, 2026, the Plaintiff, EditVoxel, had joined the Commonwealth of Redmont for the first time and gained their citizenship. The Plaintiff played their first day on the server with ease, uninterrupted. On the Plaintiff’s second day of the server, they were peacefully walking around. The Plaintiff was not carrying a weapon and did not make any threatening moves or chat messages. The Defendant then proceeded to shoot the Plaintiff in the head and cause the wrongful death of the Plaintiff two consecutive times. The Defendant attempted to do it once more, but the Plaintiff was able to escape.
The Plaintiff was a new player to the server, and did not have the appropriate means to engage in a fight. This means that he did not have firearms to use in the means of self-defense, as well as armor or weapons. This caused the Plaintiff to lose enjoyability in one of their first days as a Redmont citizen. The Defendant, LavBebik, had clearly committed murder multiple times before as the Plaintiff received a message from the server indicating that the Defendant had reached the server’s murder limit (P-001).
The Plaintiff brings this civil action for damages arising from Wrongful Death and Attempted Murder under the Criminal Code Act.
I. PARTIES
1. EditVoxel, Plaintiff.
2. LavBebik, Defendant.
II. FACTS
1. On June 10, 2026, the Plaintiff was walking in the street of Reveille, an identified section in the Commonwealth of Redmont.
2. As Reveille is not the Wilderness, PVP combat is prohibited in Reveille.
3. The attack took place on the second day of the Plaintiff’s presence in the Commonwealth of Redmont.
4. The Defendant, LavBebik, initiated unprovoked combat by shooting a firearm at the Plaintiff.
5. The digital system stated: “LavBebik has started the fight, you can legally defend yourself!” (P-001).
6. The Defendant caused the Wrongful Death of the Plaintiff - the digital system stated: “You’ve been healed and LavBebik cannot kill you because they’ve reached the murder limit,” (P-001) which indicates the Plaintiff was killed.
7. The Defendant repeated this action for a second time, causing the wrongful death of the Plaintiff once again.
8. The Defendant repeated this action for a third time, causing the wrongful death of the Plaintiff once again.
9. The Defendant caused the Wrongful Death of the Plaintiff a total of three times, all instances in which were unprovoked.
10. The Defendant attempted this conduct for the fourth time, but the Plaintiff was able to escape with the help of the /home command.
11. As a result of the Defendant’s conduct, the Plaintiff was unable to go on with their duties as a citizen and lost enjoyment in their experience with the Commonwealth of Redmont after having Wrongful Death committed against them multiple times consecutively.
III. CLAIMS FOR RELIEF
CLAIM I: WRONGFUL DEATH - Criminal Code Act
1. The Criminal Code Act defines Murder as the unlawful killing of another player.
2. PVP is not allowed in the town of Reveille.
3. The Defendant caused the Wrongful Death of the Plaintiff three consecutive times in Reveille without provocation of any sort.
4. Each individual instance of Wrongful Death creates a separate civil claim according to the Criminal Code Act.
5. The Plaintiff hereby brings three counts of Wrongful Death against the Defendant.
CLAIM II: ATTEMPTED MURDER - Criminal Code Act
1. The Criminal Code Act defines Attempted Murder as intentionally hitting another player, causing a loss of more than three hearts.
2. PVP is not allowed in the town of Reveille.
3. The Defendant attacked the Plaintiff with a firearm causing a loss of seven hearts from the Plaintiff’s health counter.
4. The Defendant committed a crime of Attempted Murder due to meeting the criteria for that form of conduct.
5. The Plaintiff hereby brings one count of Attempted Murder against the Defendant.
CLAIM III: CIVIL DAMAGES ARISING FROM CRIMINAL CONDUCT - Redmont Civil Code Act Part III Section 1
1. The Redmont Civil Code Act states: “The definitions and rules for damages in this Part apply to all civil matters under this Code, including claims for civil damages arising from criminal conduct.”
2. The Defendant’s three instances of wrongful death and one instance of attempted murder against the Plaintiff result in civil damages arising from criminal conduct.
3. Conviction of a criminal offence is not a necessity under the law for a crime to be regarded as a fact in a civil lawsuit.
CLAIM IV: PUNITIVE DAMAGES - Redmont Civil Code Act Part III Section 3
1. The Redmont Civil Code Act defines that “Punitive damages are damages awarded against a person to punish them for their outrageous conduct.”
2. The Act also states “Outrageous conduct means conduct that demonstrates a substantial departure from acceptable standards of behaviour and reflects a wilful, dishonest, oppressive, reckless, or grossly negligent disregard for the rights, interests, or safety of others.”
3. The Defendant’s conduct was outrageous for the following reasons:
CLAIM V: CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES - Redmont Civil Code Act Part III Section 5
1. Consequential Damages are an award that a party can collect against an opposing party for damages that are otherwise incalculable.
2. Loss of Enjoyment is defined as situations in which an injured party loses, or has diminished, their ability to engage in certain activities in the way that the injured party did before the harm.
3. The Plaintiff had only had one prior day of experience on the server, which meant they were still in a phase where they were learning about Redmont for the first time.
4. The Plaintiff was unable to perform their role on the server as a citizen of Redmont.
5. A reasonable person in conditions alike - suffering wrongful death three times and attempted murder once - on their second day playing the server would most certainly lead to a significant loss of enjoyment in Redmont.
6. Punitive damages are also being sought in this case, meaning that the cap on consequential damages does not apply.
7. The Plaintiff seeks $20,000 due to Loss of Enjoyment.
IV. PRAYER FOR RELIEF
The Plaintiff seeks the following from the Defendant:
1. $15,000 in punitive damages due to the outrageous and repeated criminal conduct
2. $20,000 in consequential damages for Loss of Enjoyment in the Commonwealth
3. Any other relief that the Court may find appropriate.
TOTAL: $35,000
V. EVIDENCE
- P-001: A screenshot of the Plaintiff's client logs that confirm the three wrongful death charges and the attempted murder charge

- The Defendant caused the wrongful death of the Plaintiff three consecutive times without being provoked once.
- The digital system stated that the Defendant had reached the murder limit on the server, indicating that the Defendant had already caused the wrongful death of many citizens of Redmont beyond just the Plaintiff.
- The Defendant targeted a player who had played on the server for one day prior, knowing that it would be easy to take them out and believing there was nothing that could be done about it.
- The Defendant tried to cause the wrongful death of the Plaintiff for a fourth time but failed due to the Plaintiff being able to get away.
- The Defendant’s conduct clearly shows a pattern of how they have continuously caused wrongful death across the server with many different citizens of Redmont. Punitive damages are necessary to punish the Defendant as well as to deter behavior such as this in the future.
