Amend the Constitution​

The residents of Willow, through their elected representatives in the Council and the force of law ordained to that Council by the people through the Willow Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the Willow Constitution Quick Fix Act.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by EmeraldGuuy.

2 - Reasons
(1) A small loophole was discovered by the bill’s author in the Willow Constitution.
(2) This bill fixes that.

3 - Amendments
Article VII Section V of the Willow Constitution shall be amended as follows:

Section V - Commissioner Elections - Elections for the Willow Commission shall be facilitated by the Department of State and conducted by Single Transferable Vote as set out in the Electoral Act.

All elections shall have a nomination period of 48 hours, followed by voting open for 48 hours.

Where fewer than five candidates declare, the declaration period shall be extended by 24 hours. This may repeat up to three times. After the third extension, all declared candidates shall be elected automatically and a special election held for the remaining seats. Where exactly five candidates declare, and they all meet the requirements, they shall be elected automatically.
