CONGRESS OF THE
COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT






A BILL TO

PENALIZE THE USAGE OF UNREGULATED CHESTSHOPS







The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:


PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment


(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Unregulated Chestshops Penalization Act’.

(2) This Act shall be enacted one week following its signing.

(3) This Act has been authored by Representative eatean and co-authored by Deputy Speaker EmeraldGuuy.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Deputy Speaker EmeraldGuuy, and Representative Dogen851

(5) This Act amends the following acts:

(a) Criminal Code Act

(b) Criminal Terminology Act

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) Unregulated chestshops which utilize hoppers, intentionally or otherwise, mislead players.

(2) These chestshops serve no use to the public interest, and actively waste the time of players.

(3) This wasting of time results in direct monetary impact to players.

PART II — AMENDMENTS

(1) The Criminal Terminology Act shall be amended as follows:

11 - Unregulated Chestshop and related structures

(1) "Unregulated Item Pipe" means any arrangement of 1 or more Hoppers, Hopper Minecarts, or any combination thereof, through which an item may travel from a Chestshop to 1 or more other Chestshops without player action.

(2) "Unregulated Chestshop" means a Chestshop that meets one or more of the following:
(a) the Chestshop is connected, directly or indirectly, to 1 or more other Chestshops by one or more Unregulated Item Pipe; or
(b) the Chestshop's sign displays false information for a period exceeding 1 minute, including but not limited to stock count and price.


(2) Part VIII of the Criminal Code Act shall be amended as follows:

15 - Offence of the Usage of an Unregulated Chestshop
Offence Type: Summary
(a) First Offence - 20 Penalty Units
(b) Subsequent offences - Three times the Penalty Units imposed under the person's most recent prior penalization under this Section; 45 minutes imprisonment
A person commits an offence if the person:
(a) possesses an Unregulated Chestshop;
and
(b) has been notified by the relevant government department of possessing an Unregulated Chestshop under Section 9 of Part I;
and
(c) possesses an Unregulated Chestshop at any time following the expiry of 2 days after the notification under this section.
