Establish the Oakridge police department, what deputies are, and increase policing in Oakridge

The citizens of Oakridge, through their elected Representatives in the Town-Council and the force of law ordained to that Town-Council by the people through the constitution of Oakridge, do hereby enact the following provisions into the by-laws:

1)-Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the "Deputy/Sheriff Act"
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage
(2) This Act has been authored by Councillor Towloo
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Councillor lcn

2)-Reasons
(1) The Oakridge needs its own police department to properly regulate crime
(2) The sheriff deserves to appoint his/her's own deputies
(3) There is currently minimal policing in Oakridge

3)-Establishment of the Department of Oakridge Policing
(1) Under Section II, Article IV, of the Oakridge Constitution, the following shall be added:

b) Department of Oakridge Policing
The Department of Oakridge Policing is charged with the following responsibility:
(1) Carrying out the majority of the policing of Oakridge


Leadership:
(1) The Head of Internal Affairs is the leader of the Department of Internal Affairs
(2) The Sheriff is the leader of the Department of Oakridge Policing



4)-Employment of Deputies
(1) The acting sheriff has all power in appointing and removing deputies to the Department of Oakridge Policing and does not require notice to do so
(a) All deputies must be a police officer or higher rank within the DOJ to be appointed
(2) Deputies are allowed to quit without notice
(3) There is to be no more than three deputies per sheriff
(4) Deputies are to remain deputies when a new sheriff is elected
(a) Clarification: The clause above is meant to clarify that deputies are not appointed by a sheriff each term, and the new sheriff still has the power outlined above

5)-Duties of Deputies
(1) The following are a deputy's duties:
(a) Prioritizing Oakridge crime
(b) Patrolling the streets of Oakridge at least once per login session
(2) Deputy failure to complete the above duties will result in a verbal warning, and if failure happens over five times within a single month, they are to be removed
