Keep Congress Accountable

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Taxation with no Representation Act'

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

(3) This Act has been authored by End.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by

2 - Reasons

(1) Keep Congress active.

3 - Amendments to the Legislative Standards Act

The following is added as section 15, and sections after are renumbered:

15 - Dereliction

(a) The Office of Congressional Affairs is to keep a public record of instances of Neglect of Office and any subsequent dereliction.

Offence Type: Summary
Penalty: 100 Penalty Units
A person commits an offence if the person:
(a) The congressperson fails to vote on a legislative matter requiring their vote.
(i) Votes are not required when a motion or bill is called early and progressed prior to the end of voting or a member is on an approved LOA prior to voting.
