How do you plan on using your grant funding?
We have turned around Alexandrian News' image, albeit at a cost. To date, since our rebrand, we have published 5 high-quality articles, with many more coming soon.
We have 3 interns employed in our journalistic education program, as well as one reporter (hiring an additional one soon) and one editor. Same as last application, we are forecasting 5 weeks of a runway period. We have started with our advertisement trial period, which is currently live on our website. With these grant funds, we will also start a video program, which is already in early stages of planning, with one prospective person in charge.
Our cost structure is as follows:
Interns: 3*$500 = $1,500 p/w
Reporters: 2*$1,200 = $2,400 p/w
Editor: 1*$1,500 = $1,500 p/w
Media team: 2*$1,200 = $2,400 p/w
Article commissions (range of $500-$1,200 depending on length and quality of article): 2*$1,000 = $2,000 p/w
Total p/w: $9,800
Total for 5 weeks: $49,000
Ideal Grant Amount $49,000
If awarded, I intend to use the grant money allocated to me for its intended purpose on which it was approved for, and provide a breakdown in my application thread of how the funding was used.
