Punish Slander​

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Slander Act 2020”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

2 - Slander
(1) Slander is a purposeful false statement of a player to cause damage to that player's reputation.
(2) Slander can damage a citizens reputation. If an entity purposefully falsely posts a damaging statement about a player to attack their reputation, they will be punished (see section 3).

3 - Punishment
(1) The entity can be sued by the victim for compensation of a minimum of $50. It can change depending on how damaging it was to the victims reputation.
(2) The judge will use the evidence given for slander to determine the amount of compensation the entity has to pay the victim.
(a) If the damaging statement is determined true or supported by evidence the judge will find the entity not guilty of slander.
