Amend the Constitution

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Resolutions Amendment” or as the “Democracycraft Constitution Amendment Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Representative Icypenguin79.

2 - Terms

(1) Under “Congressional Jurisdiction Summary”, add “Congress may pass non-binding resolutions as formal requests to the Executive and the Departments. These do not require presidential assent.”
(2) Under “Powers of the House of Representatives”, add “The House may create and start a vote on non-binding resolutions. These do not require presidential assent.”
(3) Under “Powers of the Senate”, add “The Senate may create and start a vote on non-binding resolutions. These do not require presidential assent.”
(4) A sub-forum under the Congress forum shall be titled “Resolutions”. All resolutions that pass both Houses will be moved to this sub-forum.
(5) The Speaker of the House may notify the President of any Resolutions that pass.
(6) Under Section 5, “Any change to the Constitution must carry the short title of "Democracycraft Constitution Amendment Act.” is stricken.
