CONGRESS OF THE
COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT

A BILL TO
Remove Rental Setup Fees and the Legal Code Committee

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Rental Fee and LCC Cleanup Act’
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Angryhamdog.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative .Savannah212467.
(5) This Act repeals the following acts:
(a) Rental Unit Setup Fee Act
(b) Redmont Legal Code Act

2 - Reasons
(1) 25$ is next to nothing, the rental fees are often forgotten, and it's simply time wasted on all sides.
(2) The Legal Code currently does nothing and the committee does not seem to exist. With the current work on the Redmont Civil Code and similar consolidation bills, their services are not required.

PART II — TERMS

3 - Repealed Acts
(1) The Rental Unit Setup Fee Act shall be repealed.
(2) The Redmont Legal Code Act shall be repealed.

Presidential Assent

While there is a typo in this bill, and I'm not quite a fan of removing rental unit setup fees, I'm inclined to remove the zombie delegation present in the Redmont Legal Code Act. We have already consolidate our Criminal Code, and we will soon be consolidating our civil code. I am of the belief that the rental fees provision can (and should) be handled in a separate bill, but I am given a binary choice here. And, on balance, I think the removing of the RLCA carries more positives than the removal of the RUSFA carries negatives.

As such, this bill is granted Presidential Assent, and is signed into law.
