To


Recognize National Service and Greatness​



The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:



1 - Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Recognition Act.'

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.

(3) This Act has been co-authored by: Rep. Dumbyhead1234, Rep. Bigpappa140, and Frmr. Rep. TheReal42Person.

(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by: Rep. Bigpappa140.



2 - Reasons

(1) Heroes in Redmont deserve a reward for their generous actions.

(2) Rewarding citizens would generally make our population more inclined toward heroism and accomplishment rather than crime and evil deeds.

(3) Government officials have not been recognized for their excellent service.

(4) We wish to expand upon the “Orders of Merits Act”, it is very short and does not accurately recognize our Government officials’ hard work



3 - Government Awards

(1) DOJ Gold Service Medal

  1. This medal would be awarded to an officer of any rank in the Department of Justice. This medal would be able to be awarded only by the Deputy Secretary or Secretary of the Department of Justice.
  2. The medal would be a physical item(a gold ingot), it would be titled “DOJ Gold Service Medal”, in bold blue font.
(2) DOI Devotion Medal

  1. This medal would be awarded to a member of the Department of Interior. It would be given to members who have shown activity. This medal would be given to many members. Granted by the DOI Secretary and DOI Deputy Secretary(s)
  2. The medal would be a physical item(an iron ingot), it would be titled “DOI Devotion Medal”, in green font.
(3) DOH Activity Medal

  1. This medal would be awarded to a member of the DOH that shows activity to the department and loyalty through their time in the department and can be granted by the DOH secretary and deputy secretary(s).
  2. This medal would be a physical item(an iron ingot), it would be titled “DOH Activity Medal”. In red font.
(4) DPA Dedicated Service Medal

  1. This medal would be awarded to a member of the DPA that shows excessive activity and passion through their time in the department. It can be granted by the DPA Secretary or their Deputy Secretary(s)
  2. This medal would be a physical item(an iron ingot), it would be named “DPA Activity Medal”, In bold pink font.


4 - Civilian Awards

(1) Medal of Heroism

  1. This medal would be awarded to any citizen of Redmont who puts their life at risk in order to protect 1 or more civilians.
  2. This medal would be a physical item(a gold ingot), it would be titled, “Medal of Heroism”. It would be in bold, bright yellow colored font.
(2) Medal of Fame

  1. This medal would be awarded to citizens who are well-known and well respected members of the glorious nation of Redmont.
  2. This medal would be a physical item(a gold ingot), it would be titled, “Medal of Fame”, in bold, bright yellow colored font.


5 - Terms

(1) ALL Civilian awards are able to be awarded by a President, Vice President, Mayor, DPA Secretary, Speaker of House, Deputy Speaker of House or Deputy Mayor

(2) The awards mentioned in Section 4, Civilian Awards, would be created.

(3) Government Awards would be created as mentioned in Section 3, Government Awards.

(4) This act would be expanding the “Orders of Merits act”.
 
Nay, awards already exist though Executive Orders and Commendations done by either house of Congress.
