Press Conference 3/24
Press Advisor jorinton » Hello everyone, the press conference is starting. The President will now address you.
President 1950minecrafter » Good morning, afternoon or evening, dear fellow citizens of Redmont. Here we are on our second Press Conference of this Administration. I think this one will be a bit shorter, or at least I'll try to keep it short. So, let's begin.
The first topic I wanted to address is the nominations and appointments that have taken place this week. This week we had quite a few. I nominated Vroomba for the position of Secretary of Construction and Transportation, which was confirmed by the Senate. I also nominated juniperfig for the position of Judge of the Federal Courts, also confirmed by the Senate. As Juni was my Chief of Staff and Solicitor General, I had to appoint Gribble as my new Chief of Staff and Secretary Freeze appointed Sumo as the new Solicitor General. Finally, I had to appoint KingCleaver as Acting Secretary of Health due to crytiee having to be a bit more inactive in the coming days.
Now, for the second topic, which has been a hot topic this week. Banks Reports. All banks have been required to hand in a report to the DOC to check everything is correctly going. This will be a regular practice from now on. But there were 2 banks that didn't submit these reports in time and form: Vanguard and DB. As a consequence, they were removed for the tax exception list. They ended up handing in a full report and they were added back to the tax exception list. Serve this as a reminder that this Administration will not be flexible with these reports and not presenting them will have consequences.
Now, we will move on to the meeting between the Governments of Redmont and Alexandria. There were some economic agreements, as well as institutional and border agreements that have already been published by the Secretary of State and one of the most exciting thing to me is that we have agreed on working towards the creation of the International Olympic Committee to organize international Olympics between Redmont and Alexandria.
In the DCT, they have continued with the auctioning of evicted plots. We want to see as many plots as possible in the market that will help ease the prices and stop the plot hoarding. We are still working with Congress on developing more measures to fight against the plot crisis.
Last Monday we also begun the Meet the President events. I personally think it was interesting and it was a successful event, with many interesting opinions and ideas coming from the citizens. I look forwards to the next meeting next Monday! There was also the St. Patrick's Day event, which I personally couldn't attend, but I've been told it was a nice event, and I hope those of you who might have attended the event had fun!
And finally, Oakridge. Once again, we had our second successful election since the DoS implemented some changes. VD was elected the new Head of Urban Development of Oakridge after the new special election without problems coming from the DOS.
And I would like to finish with a small message. Yesterday, a terrible event took place in Oakridge. In the ceremony of VD as the new General of the town, there was an attack. Some Oakridge separatits started blaming the Government of Redmont, which is nothing further from the truth. I myself was a Mayor of Oakridge and I love Oakridge with all my heart. Anyways, they also started proclaiming the need for Oakridge to become independent and started mass killing anyone who disagreed with that. Investigations are still taking place, but we believe it was a false flag attack to promote their separatist agenda. Together, we managed to push these terrorists back and defended Oakridge from falling into division and war. Because that's what they wanted, to divide the people of Oakridge and Redmont. This Administration will be always in favor of Oakridge and its deserved government autonomy within Redmont. We must stand against those who want to divide the people to fight each other.
