A
BILL
To
Amend the Constitution

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Pocket Veto Reasonability Amendment"
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(4) This Act is co-sponsored by Senator Muffins29

2 - Purpose
(1) The current timeframe for the auto-veto measure is too short and may result in bills being vetoed without regard. It places an unreasonable amount of pressure to sign a bill that may need to be reviewed in a more extensive matter.
(2) Additionally, this exact nightmare scenario occurred where President 218218Consumer was in contradiction of the 5 day veto period, resulting in the auto-veto being used to kill the December 2021 Tax Cuts and Loopholes Act.

3 - Constitutional Amendment
(1) In Section 1 of the Constitution ‘Role of Congress’ changes “The President has 5 days to sign or veto a bill from the time that they are notified” to “The President has 14 days to sign or veto a bill from the time that they are notified
