Amend the Self Defense Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short title and enactment

1. This act shall be cited as the “Self Defense Amendment Act”.
2. This act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
3. This bill is authored by Rep. MinecraftGerman.
4. This bill is co-sponsored by Rep. Vernicia.

2 - Reasons

1. The three heart rule that many police officers use to determine self defense is not accurate and gives the attacker more opportunities while limiting the victim.
2. The victim should never have to wait for them to be dealt 3 hearts of damage before being able to defend themselves.
3. Attackers don’t always hit their victim on the first strike.

3 - Amendment

Section 3 of the Self Defense Act is amended from:
(1) Self Defense-
a. A reasonable and proportionate defensive response to an imminent threat where a criminal action against the individual or property has been directly made.

To:

(1) Self Defense-
a. A reasonable and proportionate defensive response to an imminent threat where a criminal action against the individual or property has been and/or is about to be directly made.
